European Leaders Extend Congratulations to Trump on Inauguration
Leaders from across the continent have expressed their approval of Trump’s return as the 47th president of the United States.
European leaders celebrated President Donald Trump’s return to the White House yesterday following his inauguration as the 47th president of the United States.
From across the Atlantic, heads of state and government sent their congratulations as the reinstated president commemorated his political resurgence with a ceremony and gala in Washington.
“The EU looks forward to collaborating closely to address global challenges,” she stated. “Together, our societies can achieve greater prosperity and enhance their common security. This is the enduring strength of the transatlantic partnership.”
“For centuries, our nations have shared a relationship founded on collaboration, cooperation, and a lasting partnership. It is a uniquely close bond,” he stated.
“With President Trump’s long-standing affection and historical ties to the United Kingdom, I am confident that this bond will endure.”
French President Emmanuel Macron utilized Trump’s inauguration as an opportunity to encourage Europe to use the billions of euros allocated to military budgets not solely to purchase American arms.
In a recent address to military leaders, Macron remarked, “When we advocate for increased spending on armies, in many instances, it translates to buying more American material.”
He also called for enhanced joint European weapons development, even if French companies do not always spearhead the initiatives.
“We might not always be the European leaders, but we can ensure that the European leaders possess a global reach,” he affirmed.
Long-time Trump ally and Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, congratulated the U.S. president on his return to power.
Further east, the leaders from Russia and Ukraine also congratulated Trump upon his return to the White House.
From Moscow, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted during a meeting of Russia’s Security Council , which was broadcasted on state television: “We note the statements from the newly elected president of the United States and his team indicating a desire to restore direct communications with Russia.
“We also acknowledge his call for efforts to avert World War Three. We, of course, welcome this sentiment and congratulate the elected president of the United States on assuming office.”
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who has been urging Trump to sustain U.S. military support for Kyiv, stated, “President Trump is always resolute, and his peace-through-strength policy presents an opportunity to enhance American leadership and secure a long-term equitable peace, which is of utmost priority.”
Trump has indicated he is receptive to dialogues with both Moscow and Kyiv, asserting he aims to end the conflict in Ukraine within six months of taking office, expressing confidence that both Putin and Zelenskyy are amenable to a resolution to cease hostilities.
