Fatal bus crash in New York State leaves one dead and several injured | US News
One person has died and dozens are injured – at least five of them seriously – after a bus crashed and slid down an embankment on a highway in New York State.
It happened on Interstate 84 in the US town of Wawayanda, about 45 miles northwest of New York City, police said.
Video from helicopters showed the vehicle lying on its side in trees and shrubs, several yards off the road.
There were about 45 people on board, mostly children, Orange County Executive Steve Neuhaus told WNBC-TV.
At least five people were badly hurt, he added.
