FBI Probes Drone Activity Around Trump Golf Club in New Jersey

Restrictions on flight have been implemented around Trump’s Bedminster club and a military research and manufacturing facility due to recent drone sightings.

The FBI, alongside local law enforcement in New Jersey, is appealing to the public for any information regarding a series of mysterious drone sightings that have occurred in the area over the past few weeks.

On Tuesday, the FBI, New Jersey State Police, and the State Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness released a joint statement concerning the aerial objects detected along the 70-mile stretch of the Raritan River in Morris County.

“Witnesses have reported seeing a group of what appear to be drones along with a potential fixed-wing aircraft,” stated the announcement. “We have received reports from both the public and law enforcement over the past several weeks.”

The drones’ proximity to President-elect Donald Trump’s National Golf Club in Bedminster, situated south of Morris County, has raised additional alarms.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has placed two Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs) over Trump’s golf club and the Picatinny Arsenal, a military research and manufacturing site, due to the suspicious sightings. TFRs limit the operation of aircraft, including drones, in designated areas without authorization for a specified duration.

Footage of the drone sightings has surfaced on social media, leading some to question the veracity of the visuals. Conversely, others have voiced worries about whether the objects are being utilized for surveillance or present some type of danger to the public.

Local eyewitnesses have reported to media outlets that the drones have been operating nearly every night in the vicinity for several weeks.

“We’ve noticed them almost every evening, except for Thanksgiving. It seems they took that night off,” Mike Walsh shared with NBC New York on Monday.

Walsh mentioned that the drones emit sounds similar to helicopters and can be observed for extended periods. He also expressed uncertainty about their launch and landing sites.

“The skies in New Jersey are buzzing!” one user commented on X. The **FBI is investigating** the sightings of mysterious drones and [unidentified flying objects] over Northern New Jersey! What could they be? Are they extraterrestrial, surveillance technology, or something entirely different?”

As per FAA regulations, drone pilots who violate flight restrictions, or endanger aircraft or individuals, risk having their licenses revoked or facing penalties up to $75,000.

According to the FAA’s website, the TFR over Trump’s golf course will expire on December 6, while the restriction over Picatinny Arsenal concludes on December 26.
