FEMA Worker Fired for Advising Florida Hurricane Relief Team to Ignore Trump Supporters | US News
A Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) employee has been terminated for instructing staff not to assist hurricane survivors with Donald Trump signs at their homes.
Florida governor Ron DeSantis ordered an investigation into the “targeted discrimination of Floridians who support” the president-elect.
FEMA administrator Deanne Criswell condemned the employee’s actions as “reprehensible” and confirmed their dismissal in a statement.

Florida was hit by hurricanes Helene and Milton, resulting in over 200 deaths in North Carolina, Georgia, and significant destruction.
Ms Creswell, without specifying the location or timing of the incident, emphasized that over 22,000 FEMA employees are committed to assisting disaster-affected individuals.
“Recently, one FEMA employee deviated from our values by instructing their team to avoid homes with pro-Trump yard signs,” she stated.
“This goes against FEMA’s principles of aiding everyone regardless of their political beliefs. It was unacceptable.
“I want to make it clear to my employees and the public that such behavior will not be accepted at FEMA, and those who breach our conduct standards will be held accountable.
“Our mission to assist everyone during and after disasters is a serious one. This employee has been fired, and the matter has been forwarded to the Office of Special Counsel. I will do everything in my power to ensure this does not occur again.”
As per Sky’s US partner network NBC News, Mr Trump has secured victory in Arizona, winning all seven swing states and accumulating 312 electoral college votes, compared to Kamala Harris’s 226.
