Floyd Mayweather Refutes Claims of Being Punched in Altercation with Crowded London Audience | UK News


  <p>Boxing icon Floyd Mayweather has refuted claims that he was assaulted, following the release of videos depicting him being confronted by an upset crowd in London.</p>
  <p>The former American boxer and promoter was reportedly escorted by security through the capital's jewelry district while several men surrounded him.</p>
  <p>In the footage, the 47-year-old, dressed in a vibrant green Louis Vuitton jacket and camouflage combat trousers, is seen being guided into the back of a black SUV before it departs the scene.</p>
  <p>Mayweather can be heard asserting, "I’ll get these motherf*****s" just before being ushered into the vehicle. "You better go," another man shouts in the background.</p>
  <p>Following the incident, Mayweather stated that he "wasn't punched or touched in any way" amidst the chaos.</p>
  <p>In a social media update, he clarified that the footage illustrated his security "doing their job to maintain control." </p>
  <p>The former champion, once among the highest-earning athletes globally, revealed he was in the UK for a brief "48-hour shopping trip."</p>
  <p>Mayweather, known as Money, emphasized that he was "perfectly fine" after the videos surfaced online.</p>
  <p>The Metropolitan Police confirmed they did not respond to the altercation at Hatton Garden and have not received any related complaints.</p>

  <p><strong>'There's no truth to the rumours'</strong></p>
  <p>In an Instagram statement, Mayweather expressed, "Let me clarify... there's no truth to the rumors circulating. I wasn’t punched or touched in any way."</p>
  <p>"What you’re witnessing is just my security executing their duties to ensure everything remains calm."</p>
  <p>"I was in the UK for a quick 48-hour shopping trip, and it’s unfortunate that some people allow jealousy and negativity to fuel false narratives."</p>

  <p>Mayweather competed in professional boxing from 1996 until his retirement in 2017, concluding with an unblemished record.</p>
