Former President Bill Clinton Admitted to Hospital with Fever, According to Spokesperson
The 42nd president is currently in ‘testing and observation’ following a fever.
Former President Bill Clinton was admitted to a Washington hospital on Monday due to a fever, as shared by his aide in a statement.
The aide indicated that Clinton, 78, “is in good spirits and truly appreciates the exceptional care he is receiving.”
Urena did not elaborate on any other health-related concerns regarding Clinton, including possible causes for the fever or whether he is experiencing any additional symptoms.
In 2021, Clinton was hospitalized due to a blood infection, from which he was discharged after a six-day stay, as reported by his spokesperson. Earlier, in 2004, Clinton underwent quadruple-bypass heart surgery, and in 2010, he had two stents placed to unblock an artery.
Earlier this year, the former president campaigned in support of Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris’s presidential run. After President Joe Biden decided to withdraw from the race, both Clinton and former First Lady Hillary Clinton voiced their support for Harris, who ultimately lost her campaign to President-elect Donald Trump.
Late last month, Clinton expressed he was not taken aback by Trump’s victory.
“This time, there’s no doubt that he won both the popular vote and the Electoral College,” Clinton noted in an MSNBC interview, suggesting the U.S. economy played a significant role in this outcome.
“There’s been much change for people to process,” Clinton remarked, “a great deal of economic hardship and instability, alongside political and social developments. Many of the votes in the last election came from people who are simply fatigued by uncertainty. That often favors the right.”
Clinton also published a book in mid-November titled “Citizen: My Life After the White House.”
