“Ghost Adventures Star Aaron Goodwin’s Wife Arrested for Allegedly Attempting to Hire a Hitman to Kill Him” | US News

The spouse of celebrity ghost hunter Aaron Goodwin has been taken into custody after reportedly attempting to hire a hitman to murder him, as detailed in a police report.

Goodwin, 48, is one of four investigators featured on the US series Ghost Adventures, which has been airing since 2008 and has amassed 26 seasons.

Authorities discovered an alleged scheme orchestrated by his wife, Victoria, to have him killed after seizing the phone of a prisoner from Florida, named Grant Amato, in October of the previous year, according to the report from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

Amato, 35, was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2019 after being convicted of first-degree murder, as covered by court records reported by NBC News, a US partner of Sky News.

His phone included text messages and Facebook conversations exchanged with Victoria Goodwin, 32, during his incarceration, which indicated a romantic involvement, according to the police report.

The two discussed setting aside $11,515 (£8,900) on October 2 of last year to enlist a third party—whose name remains undisclosed in the report—to execute the TV star, according to police documentation.

The couple also talked about Goodwin’s whereabouts and the model of his vehicle on the same day, the reports indicate.

“I’m so anxious LOLOL,” Victoria Goodwin is alleged to have written in one message, according to the report.

“I just can’t believe it’s happening,” she reportedly added in another.

In other messages, she allegedly inquired, “like, how did I get to this point?” and “am I a bad person?”.

In response, Amato reportedly questioned her reasoning, to which she is said to have replied: “Because I chose to end his existence. Not divorce.”

Amato reached out to the alleged hitman on October 3 of last year, stating that he would call the celebrity ghost hunter to distract him, the report indicates.

“I need to know what is going on,” Amato allegedly wrote before asking: “Can I get an update? Was it done?”

Florida corrections officers acquired Amato’s phone on the same day.

However, its contents were examined at an unspecified later date, according to the report.

On March 3, officials in Florida contacted authorities in Nevada, where the Goodwins reside, to inform them about the alleged conspiracy, as stated in the report.

When Victoria Goodwin was apprehended and questioned two days later, she claimed that she and her husband “were going through troubles in their marriage” but denied any desire to harm him, according to the report.

She acknowledged having seen some of the messages exchanged with Amato but stated that she didn’t remember all of them, the report adds.

Ms. Goodwin is being held at the Clark County Detention Center in Nevada on charges of solicitation to commit murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

Her next court appearance is set for March 25 in Clark County.

Bail has been set at $100,000 (approximately £77,000), according to jail records.

The Goodwins are reported to have been married since August 2022, based on a post on his Instagram account.

The couple showcased affectionate photos of each other on social media in the weeks leading up to Victoria Goodwin’s arrest.

On February 14, she shared a selfie with her husband on Instagram, captioning it “mini golf with my Valentine” alongside a heart emoji.

Goodwin commented on the post: “I love u even though u crushed me in mini golf.”

A few weeks earlier, on January 22, she posted a picture on Instagram of them kissing and wrote: “Happy anniversary mi cariño. I love celebrating our first date.”

He responded: “I’m so blessed we met. I love u.”
