Governor states man killed at Donald Trump rally was attempting to protect family from gunfire
A man who was killed during an attempted assassination of Donald Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania bravely protected his family by diving on top of them to shield them from the bullets, according to the state’s governor.
The Governor of Pennsylvania, Josh Shapiro, called 50-year-old Corey Comperatore a hero during a press conference on Sunday.
Shapiro also mentioned that two other victims of the shooting are still in critical condition.
Following the tragic incident, the victim’s sister took to Facebook to express her grief, saying: “The PA Trump Rally took the life of my brother, Corey Comperatore.
“The hatred towards one man resulted in the loss of the man we loved the most.”
She also shared that Mr. Comperatore “was a hero who bravely shielded his daughters”.
