Halsey shares her gratitude for being alive amidst health struggles

Pop singer Halsey has expressed gratitude for being alive as she disclosed her ongoing battle with chronic illnesses in private.

The 29-year-old American artist shared this personal revelation on social media while also announcing the release of a new album.

Halsey, whose real name is Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, did not specify the conditions she is dealing with but mentioned organizations like the Lupus Research Alliance and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in her post.

In an Instagram video, she humorously referred to herself as feeling like an “old lady”.

She stated, “I told myself I’m giving myself two more years to be sick. And at 30… I’m having a rebirth and I’m not going to be sick and I’m going to look super hot and have lots of energy and I’m just going to get to redo my twenties in my thirties.”

Accompanying the video, she wrote a caption expressing her gratitude for being alive and how it inspired her to create a new album.

In the video, she can be seen rubbing her legs while speaking, with medication visible on a coffee table in front of her.

The post also includes images and footage of her receiving treatment for her illnesses, sometimes in tears.

Additionally, the post showcases snippets of her recording her fifth studio album.
