Harvard President to Remain in Position Despite Controversial Comments on Campus Antisemitism, US News Reports



Harvard president Claudine Gay will continue to lead the prestigious Ivy League school despite her controversial comments at a congressional hearing on antisemitism last week.

There was pressure for Ms Gay to resign after she suggested that calling for the “genocide of Jews” would depend on the context and whether it would violate university rules on bullying and harassment.

“Our extensive deliberations confirm our confidence in President Gay as the right leader to help our community heal and address the serious societal issues we are facing,” the Harvard Corporation stated after their meeting on Monday night.

Ms Gay made the comments at a congressional hearing on antisemitism.
