Hawaii Court Favors Plaintiffs Over Insurers in Maui Wildfire Case




The Supreme Court of Hawaii determined on Monday that insurance firms are not permitted to initiate their own legal proceedings against parties held responsible for the devastating wildfire in Maui in 2023. This decision enables a $4 billion settlement, which was close to failing, to move forward.
