Homeless man arrested for attacking Hollywood actor Steve Buscemi on New York City street



Charged over the random attack on Hollywood actor Steve Buscemi on a New York Street earlier this month, a homeless man has been identified.

On 8 May, the 66-year-old Broadwalk Empire and Fargo star was punched in the face by a stranger while walking in midtown Manhattan, city police confirmed.

Though he experienced bruising, swelling, and bleeding to his left eye, Buscemi’s publicist assured that he was otherwise unharmed after being taken to the hospital.

Following the incident, a man connected to the attack was arrested on Friday and charged with second-degree assault in the same precinct as the attack on Buscemi.

The suspect was identified on Tuesday and authorities were actively searching for him.

Regarding the incident, Buscemi’s publicist previously stated that the actor was “another victim of a random act of violence in the city” and that he was doing fine.

In March, Buscemi’s Boardwalk Empire co-star Michael Stuhlbarg was hit in the back of the neck with a rock while walking in Manhattan’s Central Park. Stuhlbarg chased and the attacker, who was later arrested and charged for the incident.
