At the age of 93, James Earl Jones, known for his iconic voice work as Darth Vader in Star Wars and Mufasa in The Lion King, has passed away.

His impressive acting career included roles in Conan the Barbarian, Coming to America, The Hunt for Red October, and Patriot Games.

Mark Hamill, who portrayed Luke Skywalker, Vader’s son in Star Wars, paid tribute by tweeting: “RIP dad.”

He was a rare EGOT winner, having earned Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony awards.

Samuel L. Jackson once praised him, saying: “If you were an actor or aspiring to be one, James Earl Jones was the standard to aspire to.”
