Susie Wiles, the incoming White House chief of staff for President-elect Donald Trump, has articulated her plan for a seamlessly operating Trump administration, vowing that the West Wing will function with discipline and teamwork to swiftly fulfill the president-elect’s commitments to the electorate.

Having co-managed Trump’s campaign, Wiles shared with Axios in an interview published on January 6 that the effectiveness of the new administration relies on collaboration and unified goals, dismissing any drama-seeking individuals.

“My team and I will not permit backstabbing, unwarranted second-guessing, or unnecessary drama. These behaviors are counterproductive to our mission,” stated Wiles, who has gained recognition for her adept management of Trump’s campaign and earned the nickname “Ice Maiden” due to her calm demeanor.

Wiles herself prefers to stay out of the spotlight, even forgoing a chance to speak before Trump’s acceptance address on election night. She conveyed to Axios that Trump has learned from the challenges of his first term that a team marked by competence and loyalty is vital for success this time. She shared that he has personally interviewed each of his Cabinet selections and numerous sub-Cabinet appointments, and that Trump will apply the insights gathered from his previous term’s hurdles to navigate potential pitfalls ahead.

“I am hopeful that the 47th administration will not face the same level of attempts to hinder progress,” she remarked, expressing confidence that members of the second Trump administration will diligently work and uphold the principles upon which Trump campaigned.

Wiles highlighted that Trump and his team view the interval between inauguration day and the 2026 midterm elections as a significant opportunity to demonstrate to voters their capability to deliver on the president-elect’s commitments. The administration’s agenda will emphasize energy production, regulatory rollbacks, and the elimination of government waste through the newly proposed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Key objectives also include securing the southern border, deporting illegal immigrants with criminal records, and reducing taxes.

A seasoned political operator from Florida, Wiles boasts an extensive career that spans lobbying, political campaign management, and serving as a special assistant to former President Ronald Reagan. Her experience also includes acting as the deputy director of operations for the vice presidential campaign of Dan Quayle, who was the running mate of Republican George H.W. Bush, elected president in 1988. Furthermore, Wiles has worked on Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s campaign during his 2018 gubernatorial run.
