Donald Trump is not one to retreat easily.
His remarkable proposal to “own” Gaza and move two million Palestinians has encountered unanimous backlash from America’s allies. However, the president now has a strategy, and anyone who opposes it should beware—including international law.
“The Gaza Strip would be handed over to the United States by Israel once the fighting concludes,” he stated on Truth Social.

Forget the fact that Gaza is not Israel’s territory to surrender.
“The Palestinians… would have already been relocated to safer and more appealing communities, equipped with modern homes, in the region.”
Despite the overwhelming opposition from most nations in the region to this proposal.
Realizing that the idea of US troops stationed in Gaza for possibly decades would incite resistance in Congress, Trump asserted, “no soldiers from the US would be required!”
This addresses one question. But who would handle security in Gaza, then?
Local law enforcement affiliated with Hamas? Private security contractors composed of former American military personnel, operating under what rules of engagement?
While the majority of the world responds negatively to these developments, in Israel, people are embracing them. Strongly.
Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has ordered the IDF to devise plans for allowing Gazans to depart by land, sea, or air. This initiative is being portrayed as voluntary migration, allowing Gazans the choice to seek a better life elsewhere.
Some may consider leaving. But what happens if the majority choose to stay? Then what?
While “voluntary migration” sounds appealing, how genuinely voluntary would it be in practice?

Palestinians, human rights organizations, and other advocates argue that after 15 and a half months of continuous bombardment, Israel has made Gaza uninhabitable, meaning any exodus would happen under the threat of violence that has loomed over them for almost a year and a half.
In the face of all this, Trump, Netanyahu, and their officials continue to claim they alone understand what is best for the residents of Gaza.
Has anyone actually consulted the voices of those in Gaza?
