Jay-Z Attends Red Carpet Event with Beyoncé and Blue Ivy Following Allegations of Assault | Entertainment News
Jay-Z made a public appearance with his wife, Beyonce, and their daughter Blue Ivy Carter, just a day after being accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl.
The rap artist, aged 55 and known as Shawn Carter, appeared cheerful as he posed with his family on Monday night at the premiere of Mufasa: The Lion King in Los Angeles, a film featuring both Beyonce, who is 43, and their 12-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy. They were also accompanied by Beyonce’s mother, Tina Knowles.
This outing occurred shortly after a federal lawsuit was filed accusing him of raping a 13-year-old girl following the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards, allegedly in conjunction with Sean “Diddy” Combs, who is facing over 120 sexual misconduct claims.
The individual making the allegations, referred to as “Jane Doe,” stated that the alleged incident occurred at an after-party.
Both Jay-Z and Combs have denied the charges.
As reported by NBC News, Sky News’ US news partner, the lawsuit alleges that the girl was dropped off at the VMAs at Radio City Music Hall by a friend—without a ticket—and approached several limo drivers in an attempt to gain entry to the show or after-party.
One driver purportedly told her he worked for Combs and that she “fit what Diddy was looking for”. According to the lawsuit, the driver subsequently picked her up and took her to a house, where she was made to sign a paper she believed to be a non-disclosure agreement.
She allegedly was offered a drink that made her feel “woozy” before, as described in the lawsuit, both P Diddy and Jay-Z entered the room, with P Diddy claiming: “You are ready to party!”
She alleges that at that point, Carter removed her clothing, restrained her, and sexually assaulted her while Combs and another unnamed female celebrity observed. She claims Combs also assaulted her while Carter and the woman watched.
She is seeking damages that have not been specified.
In a statement to NBC News, Jay-Z remarked: “These allegations are so heinous that I urge you to file a criminal complaint, not a civil one! Anyone who would commit such a crime against a minor should be incarcerated, wouldn’t you agree?
“These supposed victims deserve true justice if that were the case.”

The rapper expressed that his “only heartbreak is for my family,” stating: “My wife and I will need to explain these allegations to our children, one of whom is at an age where her friends will likely see the news and ask questions about the nature of these claims, forcing us to address the cruelty and greed of people. I mourn yet another loss of innocence.”
In a later court filing reviewed by NBC News, Jay-Z’s attorney, Alex Spiro, contended that the accuser’s choice to file the lawsuit under the name “Jane Doe” was “inconsistent with a true effort to ascertain the truth or falsity of these accusations, as opposed to an endeavor to secure a quick, extortionate settlement”.
Mr. Spiro indicated that Jay-Z was “respectfully requesting either the dismissal of the allegations or the revelation of the plaintiff’s identity”.
Jay-Z has been wed to Beyonce since 2008, having met around 2000.
In addition to Blue Ivy, the couple has seven-year-old twins, Rumi and Sir.
