JD Vance, Trump’s running mate, stands by his comment about ‘childless cat ladies’
Defending his comments, Donald Trump’s running mate stated that the Democratic Party is led by “a bunch of childless cat ladies”.
These remarks by JD Vance were recently reposted by Friends star Jennifer Aniston, who criticized his opposition to a law ensuring IVF as a universal right, stating, “I truly can’t believe this is coming from a potential VP of The United States.”
Vance, 39, expressed in the interview, “We’re effectively run in this country… by a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made, and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable too.”
He cited Kamala Harris and Pete Buttigieg as examples, asserting that “the entire future of the Democrats is controlled by people without children”.
Despite receiving backlash, Vance stood by his statement, clarifying that he was not criticizing individuals who choose not to have children but rather criticizing the Democratic Party for its stance against family and children.
Aniston’s criticism stemmed from Vance’s opposition to the Right to IVF Act, with her expressing hope that his daughter would not face obstacles in bearing children. Aniston revealed her own experience with unsuccessful IVF attempts in her 30s and 40s.
JD Vance, a bestselling author and former venture capitalist, was announced as Mr. Trump’s running mate. His remarks came amidst Kamala Harris being backed by the Democrats for the upcoming presidential election.
Mr. Trump, on the other hand, hosted Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu in Florida during his US visit this week, where he also met President Biden and Ms. Harris.
