Joe Biden pledges to continue his presidential campaign at rally in Wisconsin | US News
Joe Biden has reaffirmed his commitment to stay in the presidential race amidst mounting pressure for him to withdraw. Doubts have arisen about the 81-year-old’s health and ability after a shaky performance in a recent debate with opponent Donald Trump.
Despite concerns about his stamina, Biden held a rally in Wisconsin, a crucial battleground state, where he assured supporters that he will not be deterred by the debate and is determined to win in November.
“We had a little debate last week. Can’t say it was my best performance. But ever since then there’s been a lot of speculation,” he said. “What’s Joe gonna do? Is he gonna stay in the race? Is he gonna drop out? Well here’s my answer: I am running and gonna win again.”
Biden also criticized Trump’s intelligence and labeled him a liar during the rally. Reports emerged that Democratic Senator Mark Warner was working on assembling a group to urge Biden to step aside, although this was seen as more of an exploration of options rather than a definitive move to oust him.
Sky’s US partner NBC News indicated that Senator Warner is primarily focusing on a path forward for Biden rather than immediate removal.
Biden himself acknowledged that he “nearly fell asleep on stage” during the debate, attributing it to his recent extensive travel schedule. The White House confirmed that Biden had seen a doctor for a cold but did not undergo a formal medical examination.

Biden’s upcoming ABC interview, scheduled to air at 1am on Saturday UK time, is expected to delve into his capabilities and may feature candid moments from Biden. Some donors and business leaders have expressed doubt, pausing funding and exploring alternative options.
Even some of Biden’s closest political allies, such as former Speaker Nancy Pelosi, have raised concerns about his health. In contrast, Trump, 78, who made several false statements during the debate, falsely claimed in a video that Biden was quitting the race.
