WASHINGTON—A federal judge has rejected a request from two groups for a temporary restraining order aimed at stopping the IRS from disclosing illegal immigrants’ tax information to the Department of Homeland Security.
During a hearing on March 19, U.S. District Judge Dabney Friedrich stated that the plaintiffs—Centro de Trabajadores Unidos and Immigrant Solidarity Dupage—failed to prove any imminent harm risk, after the government indicated that the IRS would comply with federal laws regulating data sharing for immigration enforcement purposes.
