Kansas City Chiefs player, Rashee Rice, surrenders to police in relation to Dallas car accident | US News
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Rashee Rice has surrendered to police in connection with a car accident that caused minor injuries to four people.
The 23-year-old wide receiver turned himself in to Glenn Heights Police in south Dallas on Thursday, as reported by NBC, Sky News’ US partner network.
A warrant for his arrest was issued on April 10, according to NBC.
Rice was later released on bond, according to a spokesperson for the DeSoto city manager’s office. He faced charges of aggravated assault, collision involving serious bodily injury, and six counts of collision after being involved in a crash with a Lamborghini and a Corvette on March 30.
Police reported that the individuals in the Lamborghini and Corvette left the scene without offering information or assistance to those in need of medical attention.
In a statement last week, Rice apologized, taking full responsibility for his actions and promising cooperation with authorities.
