Kelly Clarkson Responds to Rumors About Using Weight Loss Medication | Entertainment and Arts Update

Kelly Clarkson has addressed speculation about her weight loss, stating that she has not used Ozempic but rather “something else” which has helped her.

The singer and talk show host discussed the topic with actress Whoopi Goldberg, who has also experienced significant weight loss after undergoing treatment, on an episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show.

While many Hollywood stars are rumored to have used Ozempic for weight loss, only a few celebrities have openly admitted to using it.

The medication was originally developed for individuals with diabetes, helping to reduce appetite and prolong the digestion process, leading to weight loss.

During the show, 68-year-old Goldberg revealed to Clarkson that she shed a significant amount of weight by using a specific shot that aids individuals in need. She has previously mentioned using Mounjaro, another diabetes medication approved for weight loss in the US.

Clarkson, 42, shared her own experience, stating, “My doctor pursued me for about two years, but I was hesitant because of my thyroid issues. Everyone assumes it’s Ozempic, but it’s not.”

Instead, Clarkson disclosed that she used “something else… that assists in breaking down sugar since my body doesn’t process it correctly”.

At her heaviest, she weighed 203 pounds, or 14.5 stone, and decided to embark on her weight loss journey after watching a performance of herself where she did not recognize the person on screen.

“I saw it, and I thought, ‘she’s on the verge of a heart attack’,” Clarkson stated.

Ozempic is no longer used as a treatment for obesity in the UK due to overwhelming demand causing a shortage of the drug.

British actor Stephen Fry was prescribed the medication in the US “many years ago” and revealed that earlier this year, he experienced vomiting up to five times a day as a side effect.

Oprah Winfrey has also acknowledged using weight loss medications, although she has chosen not to disclose which ones.
