Lala Kent Exits Los Angeles Amid Fires as 4-Month-Old Daughter Faces Breathing Difficulties
This week, several brush fires ignited across Los Angeles County.
Lala Kent, who previously appeared on the Bravo reality series “Vanderpump Rules,” has left Los Angeles due to the hazardous smoke from the ongoing wildfires that made it hard for her 4-month-old daughter to breathe.
“Sosa woke up this morning and had a tough time breathing,” Kent, 34, shared in an Instagram Story on Thursday.
“I decided to pack up my family and head to Palm Springs solely based on the poor air quality. We will remain here until Los Angeles is safe again.”
Kent gave birth to her second child through a sperm donor in September 2024. She also shares a 3-year-old daughter, Ocean, with her former fiancé, film producer Randall Emmett.
Kent referred to the series of wildfires sweeping across Los Angeles County as “one of the most heartbreaking situations” she has ever witnessed.
The initial brush fire began on January 7 in the Pacific Palisades area of Los Angeles.

Following this, additional fires broke out near Altadena, just north of Pasadena, as well as in the Sepulveda Basin and Sylmar areas of the San Fernando Valley. Brush fires were also reported near Runyon Canyon in the Hollywood Hills and in Acton, northeast of Santa Clarita.
“If you weren’t directly impacted, you likely know someone who has lost everything,” Kent reflected.
“I can’t stop thinking about how unprepared we are. My heart aches for my community. Neighborhoods that have been cherished homes for decades are now gone. It’s unfathomable.”
Kent, who bought a house in the San Fernando Valley in March 2024, mentioned that the fires haven’t directly threatened her property.
“I’m attempting to feel grateful for that; it’s challenging considering what I witness others endure,” she stated.
“In times like these, it’s human nature to seek comfort at home, yet thousands of people no longer have that safe haven. There’s looting, a lack of water, and insufficient preparedness. I feel sorrow, but I’m also furious.”

On January 7, California Governor Gavin Newsom declared a state of emergency shortly after the Palisades Fire ignited.
“We extend our deepest gratitude to the skilled firefighters and first responders who quickly engaged in combating this perilous fire. If you’re in Southern California, please remain vigilant and heed instructions from emergency officials.”
A host of celebrities, including Kent, have voiced their discontent toward Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass regarding the destruction caused by the swiftly spreading brush fires.
“I’m not politically inclined. I don’t claim to be an expert on every issue,” the Bravo star prefaced a different Instagram Story.
“However, when I observe Los Angeles – and other areas of California – I notice that something is astray, and I’m disturbed by what I see. I’m a registered Democrat and identify as a liberal, but it’s clear to me that Newsom and Bass need to resign.”
Emmy Award-winning actress Patricia Heaton, acclaimed for her roles in “Everybody Loves Raymond” and “The Middle,” echoed similar views on the social media platform X.
“90210” actress Sara Foster highlighted that California residents endure the highest state income tax rate in the nation.
“Our fire department’s budget was slashed by our mayor. But thankfully, drug addicts are receiving their drug kits. @MayorOfLA @GavinNewsom RESIGN.”
