Lizzo responds to South Park jab in episode featuring Ozempic | Entertainment & Arts Update
Lizzo expresses her “worst fear” after being mentioned in a South Park episode and shares her reaction to the joke in real time on social media.
The latest episode of the long-running cartoon, titled The End of Obesity, parodies the popularity of weight-loss drugs like Ozempic and Mounjaro, with Lizzo being namechecked.
Lizzo posted a clip from the show along with her response to the scene, starting the video by saying: “I’m so scared.”
The clip features a conversation between Sharon and Sheila, the mothers of Stan and Kyle.
Sharon mentions a new obesity drug for those who can’t afford Ozempic and Mounjaro, jokingly saying she controlled her cravings with “Lizzo” – causing a shocked reaction from the singer.
The clip then transitions to a parody ad for “Lizzo” as a weight control drug, claiming it makes users feel good about their weight and reduces care about weight gain, with potential side effects like constipation and suicidal thoughts.
At the end of the ad, Sharon jokingly promotes the power of not caring with “Lizzo” as the singer reacts in disbelief.
“That’s crazy!”, Lizzo exclaims as the clip ends.
She reflects on the situation, emphasizing her message of self-love and not giving a care, showing her impact as a public figure.
