Los Angeles Police Investigating Alleged Battery Involving Kanye West

Investigations are underway in Los Angeles to determine whether Kanye West was involved in an alleged battery incident, as confirmed by LAPD officers to Sky News’ US partner network, NBC News. The incident occurred on Sunset Boulevard around 12.30am on Wednesday, prompting a police response after receiving reports.

West, also known as Ye, had already left the scene by the time police arrived. The alleged victim, an unidentified man, claimed that the US star had punched him multiple times in the face, according to a police spokesman.

Milo Yiannopoulos, West’s chief of staff at his clothing and apparel company Yeezy, stated to NBC News that the incident occurred after his wife, Bianca Censori, was reportedly “physically assaulted”. Yiannopoulos described the assailant’s actions as battery and sexual assault against Censori.

Police took a report from the individual making accusations against West but have not disclosed any details. Allegations against West have not been confirmed.

A battery charge, as distinguished from assault, involves unlawful physical contact between the accused and the victim, as explained by the Old Bailey Solicitors website. Assault, on the other hand, entails causing someone to fear the imminent use of unlawful force.
