Louisiana Governor to Hoist US and MAGA Flags for Trump’s Inauguration
Louisiana is joining a number of Republican-led states in raising U.S. flags to full-staff for Trump’s inauguration day.
On Friday, Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry announced that he will hoist a Make America Great Again (MAGA) flag alongside the U.S. flag at the governor’s mansion to mark President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on Monday.
The Republican governor issued a proclamation urging residents to display both flags in tribute to the inauguration of the president-elect.
“Today marks the beginning of a renaissance in this nation under President Trump, where America and its citizens are prioritized. We believe that is worth celebrating here in Louisiana,” he continued.
Other GOP governors, including those from Alabama, Florida, North Dakota, Idaho, Iowa, Nebraska, Tennessee, and Texas, have also proclaimed that U.S. flags will be flown at full height on January 20 and then lowered to half-staff the next day in memory of former President Jimmy Carter, who passed away at 100 years old late last month.
“Idaho will acknowledge the swearing-in of our 47th president, Donald Trump, by raising our flags on this significant day,” Little remarked. “This represents a historic shift in our nation’s leadership, and we will honor it.”
“No one wishes to see this, and no American can take pleasure in it,” he asserted.
