The individual charged with the murder of UnitedHealthcare’s CEO has entered a not guilty plea regarding the murder and terrorism allegations.
According to officials, Luigi Mangione allegedly shot and killed Brian Thompson while he was en route to an investor conference in midtown Manhattan on the morning of December 4.
The 26-year-old was officially charged last week by the Manhattan district attorney with various murder counts, including murder as a terrorist act.
Mangione was apprehended at a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania following a five-day manhunt, found in possession of a firearm matching that of the crime, as well as a forged ID, according to police reports.
He was extradited back to New York City from Pennsylvania on Thursday shortly after his capture.
