A man has been arrested following the fatal stabbing of a British student nurse in Texas just days before her graduation, as reported by US media.
Elizabeth Tamilore Odunsi, known as Tamilore Odunsi, was discovered deceased by police at her residence in Houston shortly before 4pm local time on Saturday, April 26, as reported by Sky’s US partner, NBC News.
Authorities arrived for a welfare check but received no response after knocking on the door.
Noticing blood on a rear patio, they entered the apartment and found the 23-year-old on the kitchen floor suffering from multiple stab wounds.
Ms. Odunsi, originally from London, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Chester Lamar Grant, identified as her roommate, was found in a bedroom with at least one stab wound and was taken to the hospital in critical condition, according to police.
The 40-year-old was arrested on Friday, May 2, and faces a charge of Ms. Odunsi’s murder.
He is currently in custody at Harris County Jail in Texas, with bail set at $500,000 (approximately £375,000).
A preliminary hearing revealed that the roommates had been engaged in a dispute over Grant’s cat, ABC News reports.
