Martin Mull, known for his roles in popular TV shows like Roseanne, Sabrina The Teenage Witch, and Arrested Development, has passed away at the age of 80.
His daughter, TV writer and comic artist Maggie Mull, announced his death at home on Thursday after a long illness.
The US actor, famous for his work in Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman, Fernwood Tonight, and later for his role in Roseanne, was described by his daughter as “never not funny”.
“He was known for excelling at every creative discipline imaginable and also for doing Red Roof Inn commercials,” Ms Mull shared on Instagram.
“He would find that joke funny. He was never not funny.
“My dad will be deeply missed by his wife and daughter, by his friends and co-workers, by fellow artists and comedians and musicians, and – the sign of a truly exceptional person – by many, many dogs.”
Mull, born in Chicago and raised in Ohio and Connecticut, was recognized for his roles in various TV shows and movies.
In the 1990s, he gained fame for his part in Roseanne and later became popular among millennials for his role in Sabrina The Teenage Witch.

He later appeared on Arrested Development and earned an Emmy nomination for his guest role on Veep in 2016.
Comedian Paul Feig praised Mull’s talent and influence on his life, recalling their time together on The Jackie Thomas Show.
