Multiple Trump Cabinet Picks Threatened with ‘Bomb and Swatting Attacks’, Transition Team Reports | US News
According to a spokesperson for the US president-elect, several individuals nominated for positions in Donald Trump’s upcoming cabinet and administration have been threatened with bomb threats and “swatting.”
These threats occurred on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, but law enforcement swiftly intervened to ensure the safety of those targeted, stated Karoline Leavitt.
In a released statement, it was revealed that the threats included bomb threats and instances of “swatting,” which involves falsely reporting a crime to prompt an armed police response to the individual’s residence.
The spokesperson stated: “Last night and this morning, several of President Trump’s cabinet nominees and administration appointees were targeted in violent, unAmerican threats to their lives and those residing with them.”
Additionally, Ms. Leavitt emphasized, “With President Trump as our example, dangerous acts of intimidation and violence will not deter us.”
Although three senior law enforcement officials briefed on the swatting incident indicated that the threats were deemed “not credible” and no devices or physical threats were discovered, they did not involve VIPs under the protection of the US Secret Service like Mr. Trump or his vice president-elect JD Vance.

Since his election victory on 5 November, Mr. Trump has been unveiling his selections for his cabinet and other key positions in his administration.
These threats follow previous incidents, including an assassination attempt in Pennsylvania in July that resulted in injuries to spectators, as well as an attempted assassination charge in September when a man allegedly positioned himself with a rifle outside one of Trump’s golf courses in Florida as the president-elect played golf.
