NASA Conducts Test Firing of Engine on ‘Quiet’ Supersonic X-59 Aircraft

NASA engineers have conducted a test-fire of the engine on the X-59 supersonic research aircraft in preparation for upcoming test flights. The goal of these flights is to assess whether the aircraft can effectively reduce sonic booms and make supersonic flights quieter when flying over land.
