At this year’s Golden Globes, Oppenheimer and Succession were the big winners, with Barbie’s box office success also being celebrated.
In the film categories, Emma Stone’s Poor Things, The Holdovers, and the French courtroom thriller Anatomy Of A Fall were also successful. In the TV categories, comedy-dramas Beef and The Bear took home big prizes as well.
The night belonged to Oppenheimer, which won five awards including best dramatic film, best actor for Cillian Murphy, and best director for Christopher Nolan. The final season of Succession took home four awards, including best dramatic TV series and acting trophies for Keiran Culkin, Sarah Snook, and Matthew Macfadyen.
Irish actor Cillian Murphy humorously mentioned his red nose as he accepted his award, jokingly asking, “Oh boy, do I have lipstick all over my nose? I’m just going to leave it.”
He also expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to work on a Nolan set and paid tribute to his co-stars and fellow nominees, stating, “If you’re Irish or not, you’re all legends and I salute you.”
