Police investigate possible connections between the death of a baby found on freeway, a man killed in an apartment, and a woman who died in a car crash
Los Angeles Police are investigating a series of deaths that have left three people dead, including a six-month-old baby.
The investigation involves the deaths of a baby girl found on a busy motorway, a man killed in a suburban apartment, and a woman who died in a solo car crash.
Officers discovered the infant, believed to be around six months old, along with a nine-year-old girl on Interstate 405 in Culver City at around 4:30 am local time on Monday, April 8th.
The younger girl had sustained unspecified trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene, which is approximately 10 miles (16km) west of downtown LA, according to California Highway Patrol officer Frank Salas.
The older girl sustained moderate injuries and was taken to the hospital.
One girl was found on the shoulder of the motorway, while the other was found on the road, as reported by Sky’s US partner NBC News.
Mr Salas also mentioned that a 911 caller reported seeing a black car in the vicinity where the girls were found, although it is unclear if the children emerged from the vehicle.
Shortly after 7:30 am, law enforcement responded to a suburban apartment in the Woodland Hills neighborhood, approximately 25 miles (42km) northwest of downtown LA, after receiving reports of an unresponsive man in his 30s.
Paramedics declared him dead at the scene and are treating it as a potential murder case.

Authorities later revealed that they were also looking into the single-vehicle crash involving a black car around 5 am in Redondo Beach, about 20 miles (32km) southwest of downtown LA, which resulted in the death of the female driver.
In the afternoon, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed that their detectives were collaborating with the California Highway Patrol regarding the incident involving the two children and believed it to be linked to the homicide scene at the apartment.
Reports indicate that the car collided with a tree.
Authorities are also working to ascertain if the single-vehicle crash is connected to the other incidents.
