Ramaswamy predicts that certain government agencies will be completely removed.

President-elect Donald Trump’s nominee to co-lead a new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) stated that there will be significant reductions in federal agencies, with some being completely eliminated. He also mentioned that contractors may face substantial cuts in their charges once the new administration takes office next year.

Last week, Trump appointed former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy and Tesla CEO Elon Musk to head the presidential advisory commission, DOGE. They are expected to conclude their work by July 4, 2026, as per Trump’s statement.

Ramaswamy shared with Fox Business that there is currently extensive waste, fraud, and abuse in the system.

“Federal contractors are taking advantage of the federal government,” he stated.

When asked by Fox host Maria Bartiromo if entire government agencies will be shut down, he confirmed.

“We anticipate major reductions, including the total elimination of certain agencies,” explained Ramaswamy. “We foresee significant downsizing in areas of the federal government that are bloated. We also predict substantial cuts for all federal contractors and those overcharging the government. So, yes, we are expecting all of the above.

During his presidential campaign, Ramaswamy had advocated for the complete elimination or restructuring of several agencies including the FBI, the Department of Education, the IRS, ATF, and CDC.

Expanding on Fox, Ramaswamy expressed that the failures of the executive branch need to be addressed.

“Unelected bureaucrats within the administrative state created through executive action are currently running the government,” he explained, emphasizing the need for corrective measures from the executive branch.

“This is about reinstating self-governance and accountability in America. Elected officials should be held accountable for their actions; if they make poor decisions, voters have the power to replace them,” Ramaswamy remarked.

“Most decision-makers from healthcare to defense lack effectiveness due to the absence of accountability. Historically, it was believed that these individuals could not be dismissed. However, with recent judicial developments, we can now take a different approach and act swiftly,” he added.

DOGE will not function as an official government entity, meaning that Ramaswamy and Musk are not classified as Cabinet members in the upcoming Trump administration and are not required to undergo Senate confirmation.

Ramaswamy, Musk, Tulsi Gabbard, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.), and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. were present with the president-elect at a UFC event at New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Saturday evening. Gabbard has been chosen by Trump as the director of national intelligence, while Kennedy has been nominated to lead the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

DOGE’s X social platform account, owned by Musk, recently posted a job listing requiring individuals to work 80 or more hours per week in preparation for Trump’s return to the White House.

Both Musk and Ramaswamy have voiced their support for Trump this year.
