Research: Students Lagging by Half a Grade in Math and Reading

A new study published on Tuesday by the 2025 Education Recovery Scorecard indicates that the typical American student continues to lag by half a grade in math and reading compared to pre-pandemic standards, with even greater setbacks in reading performance since 2022.
