Revamping the FBI: Rebuilding Trust Among Americans




“Fidelity, Bravery, and Integrity:” the guiding principle of the FBI, established in 1908.
Has this fundamental essence been compromised?
In its prime, the FBI successfully dismantled mafia leaders, identified spies in our communities, and exposed corporate malfeasance.
These undertakings solidified its position as a protector of justice within a constitutional democracy.
Currently, a significant number of Americans are concerned that the FBI and other intelligence agencies operate against their interests.
Recent Gallup polling indicates that 59 percent of Americans harbor an unfavorable opinion of the FBI. What factors have contributed to the public’s declining trust in the FBI? Is it possible for the FBI to restore this lost confidence?
I am joined by Scot Faulkner, former chief administrative officer at the House of Representatives, and Gary C. Meltz, who served as radio director for the Democratic National Committee during the 2016 presidential election, to delve into the conversation about the FBI….
