Search Efforts Begin in Alaska for Missing Bering Air Plane with 10 Onboard | US News



A search operation is currently underway for a missing aircraft with 10 individuals on board in Alaska.

The Bering Air Caravan flight, which was en route from Unalakleet to Nome in the state of Alaska, was reported overdue to the Alaska State Troopers around 4 PM local time, according to Sky News’ US partner, NBC News.

In a statement posted on Facebook, the Nome Volunteer Fire Department shared: “We are actively conducting a ground search from both Nome and White Mountain.”

They also requested the public’s consideration for those who may be missing, but urged: “Due to prevailing weather conditions and safety issues, we kindly ask that individual search parties not be formed.”
