Selena Gomez Emotional Over Trump’s Deportation Policies | Entertainment & Arts News
Selena Gomez has removed a video in which she expresses her emotions over Donald Trump’s immigration policies after facing criticism.
The 32-year-old singer and actress, who hails from Mexican descent, seemed to be responding to Trump’s stringent immigration measures.
The president has vowed to initiate the largest deportation operation in US history, and the White House recently shared images of men in shackles being escorted onto a military aircraft, captioned: “Deportation flights have begun.”
In a now-deleted Instagram video posted on Monday, Gomez tearfully stated: “I just want to say that I’m so sorry. My people are facing attacks.”
“The children. I can’t comprehend it. I’m truly sorry and I wish I could take action, but I feel powerless.”
“I don’t know how to proceed. I’ll do everything in my power, I promise.”
Following some backlash online, she replaced the video with an Instagram story that read: “Apparently, showing empathy for others is not acceptable.”
This post has since also been deleted.

One critic, Republican US Senate candidate Sam Parker, suggested she should “be deported” on X.
Gomez appeared to respond on her Instagram story, saying: “Oh Mr Parker, Mr Parker. Thank you for the laugh and the threat.”
Recently, Gomez starred in the Oscar-nominated Spanish-language musical Emilia Perez, portraying one of four Mexican women involved with a cartel.
