At this year’s Emmy Awards, the upcoming US presidential election was a prominent topic, from Taylor Swift’s endorsement of Kamala Harris to jokes about “childless cat ladies” by Selena Gomez and Candice Bergen.
Despite the political references, the latest apparent assassination attempt on former president Donald Trump was not mentioned on stage.
