Suspect Taken into Custody Following Standoff at CIA Headquarters
A suspect has been taken into custody after turning himself in to law enforcement at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) headquarters in McLean, Virginia, on Wednesday.
The Fairfax County Police Department (FCPD) reported that the standoff was resolved Wednesday afternoon following negotiations with the suspect.
The specific reasons behind the incident remain unclear, and authorities have not disclosed the suspect’s identity.
Local news sources reported initially that an armed individual undergoing a mental health crisis led to the police presence. Aerial footage from local broadcasts captured a significant police presence outside the headquarters, featuring SWAT vehicles and law enforcement from both Arlington County and Fairfax County. Observations suggest that a perimeter was established several blocks from the CIA headquarters.
The events at the CIA headquarters transpired just one day after the Trump administration unveiled new and unredacted files related to the 1963 assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
NTD, a sister media outlet of The Epoch Times, reached out to the Fairfax Police Department for additional information but did not receive an immediate response.
NTD also contacted the FBI Washington Field Office and was directed to local authorities. A spokesperson for the CIA confirmed the incident to local media but declined to provide specific details, noting that more information will be released when appropriate.
This is an evolving story and will be updated with new information as it becomes available.
