Taylor Swift tops nominations for MTV EMAs for the second year in a row | Entertainment & Arts Updates
Taylor Swift has once again topped the MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) nominations list.
The 34-year-old singer is nominated for seven awards, including best video, best artist, best US act, and best collaboration, following the release of her 11th studio album, The Tortured Poets Department, earlier this year.
Swift, who is now considered the world’s wealthiest female musician by Forbes, had the same number of nominations in 2023 but the ceremony was cancelled due to world events’ volatility, specifically the Israel-Hamas war outbreak.
Following her success at the 2024 Video Music Awards (VMAs), where she won seven awards, Swift is once again up for multiple EMAs, bringing her total career wins to 30 and tying with Beyonce as the most awarded musician in VMAs history.
Competing against Swift for the best artist award are American artists Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, and Billie Eilish, as well as British singer Raye.
Other British nominees include Central Cee, Charli XCX, and Coldplay, among others.
This year, 19 nominees have the opportunity to win their first-ever EMA, according to MTV.

The ceremony, set to celebrate music and artists worldwide, will be held in Manchester at the Co-op Live arena for the first time. The venue recently opened after facing weeks of delays, cancellations, and rescheduling.
The event will air on November 10 at 9pm on MTV UK, Channel 5, and Pluto TV, with on-demand viewing available on Paramount+ starting from November 12.
