Teenager Charged with Murdering Parents for Financial Resources to Assassinate Donald Trump | US News

A 17-year-old has been charged with murdering his parents in a bid to secure funds to carry out an assassination of Donald Trump and overthrow the United States government, according to an FBI warrant.

Nikita Casap, from Wisconsin, faces two counts of first-degree intentional homicide following the deaths of his mother, Tatiana Casap, and stepfather, Donald Mayer, last month.

Reports from Sky News’ US partner NBC News indicate that Waukesha County District Attorney Lesli Boese stated Casap shot his mother multiple times—twice in the abdomen and once in the neck—on February 11.

On the same day, prosecutors allege that he killed Mayer by shooting him in the back of the head, as reported by US media.

It is claimed that Casap attended school the following day and remained at home with the deceased until February 23.

Authorities assert he left with approximately $14,000 (£10,625) in cash, passports, and the family dog.

The remains of Ms. Casap and Mr. Mayer were discovered in a decayed state on February 28 after Mr. Mayer’s mother, worried after weeks of silence, contacted the sheriff’s office for a welfare check.

Casap was apprehended the same day for running a stop sign while driving Mr. Mayer’s Volkswagen Atlas in WaKeeney, Kansas, located 800 miles from his residence in Wisconsin.

The teenager is currently held at the Waukesha County jail in Wisconsin on a bond of $1 million (£757,720) and is scheduled to appear in court next month to enter a plea.

Additionally, he is facing charges for hiding a corpse, theft of property exceeding $10,000 (£7,577), and two counts of misusing identification to obtain money.

Recent revelations regarding the allegations against Casap came from an FBI warrant that was unsealed on Friday.

This document reveals that Casap allegedly composed a manifesto that “calls for the assassination of the President of the United States”.

“He was allegedly in contact with others about his intention to kill the President and overthrow the U.S. government,” the warrant states.

“The murder of his parents appears to have been an attempt to gain the financial means and independence necessary for his plan.”

It is claimed that Casap detailed his motivations for wanting to kill Trump in a three-page manifesto that contained antisemitic content praising Adolf Hitler.

The warrant presented in federal court in Milwaukee also features excerpts from communications via TikTok and the Telegram messenger app.

In court, prosecutors revealed that Casap communicated with an individual who speaks Russian regarding a plan to escape to Ukraine.

Federal prosecutors have claimed that the manifesto contained strategies for how he would survive in the war-torn area.

According to Casap’s writings shared in the federal warrant, the teen expressed a desire to instigate governmental collapse by “removing the president and possibly the vice president”.

Casap’s public defender, Nicole Ostrowski, filed motions last month to dismiss various charges, including theft, claiming the prosecution’s case was inadequately presented.

She has emphasized her client’s age during legal proceedings, stating, “He is young; he is still in high school,” on March 12.

Meanwhile, prosecutors informed the court that Ms. Casap and Mr. Mayer’s remains were so severely decomposed that dental records were needed for identification.
