Texas Proposes 1,400-Acre Ranch for Trump’s Mass Deportations Program

A Texas commissioner has formally offered 1,402 acres of land in Starr County, Texas, to be used for constructing deportation facilities.

The Texas General Land Office has proposed a 1,400-acre ranch to President-elect Donald Trump for erecting centers for mass deportations in a county near the U.S.–Mexico border.

Land Office Commissioner Dawn Buckingham mentioned in a Nov. 19 letter to the president-elect that the land in Starr County was recently acquired by the state.

“I am writing to formally offer 1,402 acres of land in Starr County, Texas, to be used to construct deportation facilities,” Buckingham stated in the letter, noting its proximity to McAllen, Texas, about 35 miles to the west.

Expressing readiness to collaborate with federal immigration agencies, Buckingham’s offer highlighted the potential for a facility on the land to aid in the processing, detention, and coordination of a significant deportation initiative, as per Trump’s campaign pledges.

Buckingham’s office disclosed that Texas procured the ranch with plans to construct a 1.4-mile border wall near the Rio Grande, after encountering opposition from the previous landowner, who had denied access to law enforcement in that area, as conveyed to Trump.

“I am dedicated to utilizing all available resources to achieve complete operational security of our border,” she affirmed.
