Tom Hollander admits he was accidentally sent Tom Holland’s seven-figure Avengers bonus payslip
Actor Tom Hollander revealed that he is often mistaken for Spider-Man star Tom Holland and once received one of Holland’s first box office bonus payslips for The Avengers, which was a staggering seven-figure sum. Their agency once mixed up the two actors via email.
When 56-year-old White Lotus star was asked by Late Night host Seth Meyers if he was ever mistaken for Holland, he joked, “Yes. It’s been very difficult, ’cause, you know, I was here first, but he’s enormously famous.”
He went on to explain that while he doesn’t actually get mistaken for Holland visually, in non-visual contexts, he is often mistaken for him. He shared anecdotes of being confused for Holland by utility companies and by children who are excited to meet him, only to realize he isn’t the actor they were expecting.
Hollander also recounted the time he and Holland shared the same agency and how he received Holland’s mistaken bonus payslip, which was an eye-opening moment for him.
