Trump Demands Clarity on Enigmatic Drones
“Inform the public immediately! Otherwise, take action against them!” the president-elect remarked regarding the enigmatic drones observed in the United States recently.
President-elect Donald Trump has voiced his worries over the unidentified drone sightings occurring across the United States and urged for more information to be released.
“There are mystery drone sightings all over the country,” he stated in a post on TruthSocial. “Is it possible this is happening without our government being aware? I doubt it! Let the public know, and now. If not, shoot them down!!!”
Additionally, drones have been reported in various regions of Pennsylvania.
John Kirby, National Security Communications Adviser at the White House, indicated that due to multiple concerns, the government cannot simply resort to shooting down the drones.
He emphasized that if the government possessed more information, “you wouldn’t want to shoot something down that might hit a home or injure someone.”
Representative Jeff Van Drew (R-N.J.), a member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Subcommittee on Aviation, suggested on December 11 that the drones might have originated from Iran.
“From highly reputable and responsible sources, I can confirm this information,” Van Drew stated in an interview with Fox News host Harris Faulkner. “Iran launched a mothership about a month ago that is now housing these drones.”
“That mothership is positioned off … the east coast of the United States.”
Pentagon spokesperson Sabrina Singh refuted the claim of an Iranian mothership being stationed off the coast and sending drones toward the U.S. Van Drew countered that the Pentagon has been “remarkably unresponsive about this matter.”
He stated that individuals with high-level security clearances “believe there’s a substantial chance it could be Iran, and that there could be a vessel—although not right off the New Jersey coast—that these drones, as reported by the Coast Guard, are frequently moving in and out of the ocean.”
U.S. Senators from New York and New Jersey sent a letter on December 11 seeking a briefing from the DHS, the FBI, and the Federal Aviation Administration. They mentioned that since late November, communities in northern New Jersey and the New York City area have been reporting drone sightings.
“Safeguarding civilian infrastructure, safety, and privacy, along with military resources and personnel, will necessitate a comprehensive response from both Congress and the executive branch,” Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), Cory Booker (D-N.J.), and Andy Kim (D-N.J.) stated in their letter.
In a statement on December 13, Rep. Chris Smith (R-N.J.) accused President Joe Biden’s administration of being “dismissive concerning the residents of New Jersey who have reported witnessing these drones in swarms.”
Smith claimed that the administration’s “failure to take decisive measures and the empty reassurances will only escalate the public’s valid concerns.”
