Trump Indictment Vote Delayed, Grand Jury Meeting Canceled; Fed Hikes Rate Again Despite Bank Failures



A potential indictment of former President Donald Trump was delayed on March 22 after the grand jury in New York investigating the Stormy Daniels hush money case was reportedly told not to meet and to be on standby for Thursday. The reason for the adjournment is unclear. Meanwhile, Republican lawmakers gave their reactions to the case.

The Federal Reserve raised interest rates by 25 basis points, lifting the benchmark federal funds rate to a range of 4.75–5.0 percent, the highest since late 2007. This is the ninth consecutive rate increase by the Fed in the past year to combat inflation. Fed officials say that the banking system is “sound and resilient.”

At a Senate hearing, lawmakers grilled Moderna’s chief executive on issues with the company’s COVID-19 vaccine. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) raised questions about adverse effects among young men who took the Moderna vaccine.

Epoch Times business reporter Kevin Stocklin tells NTD’s Stefania Cox that there’s increasing evidence that ESG investing hurts returns and it may not effectively tackle the goals it sets out to. He says Americans with private pension funds should look at their options, after President Joe Biden vetoed a bill earlier this week that had tried to stop pension fund managers from investing retirees’ money according to environmental and social-justice criteria.
