Trump pledges to reveal JFK assassination documents following endorsement from Robert F. Kennedy Jr. for presidential race | US News
Donald Trump has pledged to unveil a trove of documents related to the assassination of John F Kennedy, following an endorsement from JFK’s nephew during his presidential campaign.
Robert F Kennedy Jr, also known as RFK Jr, was a competitor in the White House race against Trump.
However, he halted his campaign on Friday and joined Mr Trump on stage at a rally in Glendale, Arizona, where he received cheers and fireworks in support of his endorsement.
The Kennedy family has expressed disappointment in RFK Jr’s endorsement, labeling it a “betrayal” of their beliefs.
While acknowledging their differences, Trump commended Kennedy’s exceptional campaign efforts, hinting at potential collaboration in the future: “We’ve been a little bit on the opposite side of the equation.”
At the age of 70, Kennedy hinted that a position would be available if Trump secures a second term, without specifying any details during the rally.
In the event of his re-election, Trump has promised to establish a new impartial presidential committee to investigate assassination attempts, including the one on his life in Pennsylvania on July 13.
He also stated that the committee would be required to disclose all remaining files relating to JFK’s assassination in 1963.
Currently, approximately 4,700 files associated with the case remain redacted more than 60 years later.
Kennedy, whose father Senator Bobby Kennedy was assassinated in 1968 during his presidential campaign, endorsed Trump at the rally.
In a reconciliatory speech, Trump also committed to forming a task force to investigate chronic health issues and childhood diseases, including autism, autoimmune disorders, and obesity.
These were key priorities for Kennedy, who took the stage to clarify his support for Trump.
Kennedy highlighted common ground in areas such as free speech, the conflict in Ukraine, agriculture, and foreign policy.
He addressed corruption within US corporations and regulatory bodies, as well as the battle against censorship.
Trump also lauded Kennedy, praising him as “brilliant” and acknowledging his significant influence on the campaign: “I know because he also went after me a couple of times… I didn’t like it. I think he’s going to have a huge influence on this campaign”.

However, Kennedy is only withdrawing his name from ballots in swing states, stating that his supporters should continue to endorse him in areas where their impact is minimal.
He asserted that his internal polls indicated his presence in the race could be detrimental to Trump and beneficial to Democratic nominee Kamala Harris.
Nevertheless, recent public polls do not definitively indicate a significant impact on support for either major party candidate.
