Trump Reiterates Demand for Tip Tax Elimination at Las Vegas Rally
The president captivated a lively audience by sharing an extensive overview of his new administration’s achievements and objectives.
The Galaxy Ballroom, accommodating approximately 1,500 guests, buzzed with supporters dancing in eagerness for the president’s entrance, breaking into cheers as he approached the podium with Lee Greenwood’s “God Bless the USA” resonating through the loudspeakers.
“It feels fantastic to be back in this remarkable city after an extraordinary first week at the White House,” Trump remarked.
Positioned in front of a large banner declaring “No tax on tips” in bold letters, the president paused for the song to conclude before promising to abolish taxes on gratuities and ensure that tax cuts from his first term become permanent, with a bill set to be introduced in Congress shortly.
“If you rely on tipped income, your tips will belong entirely to you,” Trump assured. “We will get this passed.”
According to the president, over 4 million workers across the nation, including 700,000 single mothers, derive a substantial part of their earnings from tips.
“The overlooked men and women of our nation will no longer be forgotten,” he declared.
In a light-hearted moment, he proposed relocating newly appointed Internal Revenue Service agents to the border.
Rethinking the nation’s tax system is a key concern for the new administration, with Trump unveiling an “External Revenue Service” that will gather considerable revenue through tariffs to enhance the competitiveness of local producers.
He referred to a time in U.S. history characterized by high tariffs from 1870 to 1913, when Americans faced no income taxes, as proof that the current framework may not be the most efficient.
“That was a period when we were the wealthiest,” Trump remarked.
“I came here to express my gratitude to the people of Nevada for such a tremendous win,” Trump stated.
Claiming six electoral votes from this pivotal state, where he defeated former Vice President Kamala Harris, Trump portrayed this success as a pivotal moment for his party.
“I wanted to honor Nevada for providing us with the only recent Republican victory in this state, and it was a landslide,” Trump noted. “I believe Republicans are poised to achieve significant victories moving forward.”
Listing a variety of executive orders enacted in the initial days of his second term, the president remarked on his decisions to pardon individuals related to January 6 incidents, halt government censorship, and declassify documents regarding the assassinations of John F. Kennedy, Robert F. Kennedy, and Martin Luther King Jr.
“We have restored free speech in America,” Trump asserted.
His orders terminating diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives and asserting that the United States recognizes only two genders, male and female, were intended as a signal that “woke” ideologies will no longer be tolerated, he claimed.
“We are now in a merit-based society,” Trump emphasized. “If you perform your job effectively, you will be rewarded.”
A firm commitment to traditional values is a focus for his administration, Trump added.
“We’re reviving religion in this nation,” he stated.
Trump underscored his orders pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord and rescinding electric vehicle mandates, labeling the climate agenda a “green new scam.”
“Remember when we were told we had 12 years until catastrophe?” Trump queried. “Here we are, still standing.”
His withdrawal from the U.N. World Health Organization was necessary due to the disproportionate financial contributions from the U.S.—$500 million compared to China’s $39 million—he explained to his audience.
The administration’s focus is on deregulation and domestic investment, with a recent announcement of $500 billion in AI infrastructure investment, along with an additional $600 billion commitment from Saudi Arabia.
“I believe they’ll ultimately reach $1 trillion,” Trump said. “For them, money is no object.”
He reiterated earlier statements regarding his desire to expand U.S. territory, hinting at Greenland, the Panama Canal, and Canada as valuable opportunities.
“In the near future, we could be a significantly larger country,” Trump suggested.
Ensuring security at the southern border is a primary focus for Trump, as he allocates resources to combat illegal immigration and deport violent offenders who have evaded capture.
“We are going to remove the dangerous individuals among us,” Trump declared.
He mentioned the confirmations of Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem, stating that additional Cabinet appointments will take place soon.
As the Trump administration assembles, agency leaders and officials are focused on delivering on a comprehensive set of campaign promises.
“Throughout my term, we will uphold the principle: promises made, promises kept,” Trump affirmed. “For the next four years, I will remain relentless, we will prevail, and we will revitalize the American Dream.”
