Trump Selects Dr. Makary, Mandate Critic, as Head of FDA
Makary, a professor and surgeon at Johns Hopkins University, has been selected by President-elect Donald J. Trump to lead the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
“FDA has lost the trust of Americans, and has lost sight of its primary goal as a regulator,” Trump announced. He also mentioned that Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., who he appointed to lead the Department of Health and Human Services, will collaborate with Makary as FDA falls under HHS.
Makary has been a vocal critic of COVID-19 mandates and has been involved in various discussions surrounding the pandemic.
