Trump selects North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum to head Interior Department; APEC Summit commences in Peru




President-elect Donald Trump has made two new appointments to his administration. He has chosen North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum as Secretary of the Interior, and his longtime adviser Steven Cheung as White House communications director.
Leaders from Pacific Rim countries, including President Biden, have gathered in Peru for the APEC summit. This summit is one of Biden’s final global gatherings before leaving office, where he will meet with the leaders of Japan, South Korea, Australia, and the Chinese regime.
The trial of the man accused of murdering Georgia nursing student Laken Riley has begun. Prosecutors claimed that Venezuelan illegal immigrant Jose Ibarra was targeting females on the University of Georgia’s campus. Defense attorneys argued that the evidence in the case is circumstantial.
