Trump Unfazed by Military Drills Conducted by Russia, China, and Iran in the Gulf of Oman
Trump stated he has no worries about Iran, Russia, and China’s Maritime Security Belt-2025, claiming, “the U.S. army is superior to all of them.”
On March 9, President Donald Trump brushed aside concerns regarding the joint naval drills, dubbed “Maritime Security Belt-2025,” conducted by Russia, Iran, and China in the Gulf of Oman.
When asked why he showed no concern about the military exercises, which commenced on March 9 according to the Russian Defense Ministry, Trump responded to journalists aboard Air Force One, asserting that the U.S. military is “stronger than all of them.”
In October 2023, the trio of Iran, China, and Russia was labeled an “axis of evil” by Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), who was then the Minority Leader, in a Fox News interview.
When the reporter pressed further with, “Why?” Trump answered, “Because we’re stronger than all of them. We have more power than all of them.”
“President Trump revived the United States military after eight years of decline and neglect under the previous Administration,” referring to President Barack Obama’s time in office.
Russia, Iran, and China’s War Games
The Iranian military’s X page shared on March 11 that “observers from the Republic of Baku, South Africa, Oman, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Qatar, Iraq, the UAE, and Sri Lanka are actively participating in the crucial Iran-Russia-China Security Belt 2025, currently unfolding in the Indian Ocean.”
The Russian Defense Ministry also provided commentary on the operation that day, highlighting the participation of vessels from its own Navy, as well as those from Iran’s Navy and China’s People’s Liberation Army.
The Russian contingent included two corvettes, the smallest class of warship—Rezkiy and Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov—along with what it categorized as a “medium sea tanker Pechenga of the Pacific Fleet.”
They remarked that the operation was planned to last a few days and would involve tasks such as liberating captured ships, conducting search and rescue operations at sea, and performing artillery firing at sea and air targets.
China’s People’s Liberation Army confirmed on March 10 that it had dispatched the missile destroyer, Baotou, and a supply vessel named Gaoyouhu, echoing Iran’s narrative.
China’s Conflict with the US
On February 4, Trump implemented a 10 percent tariff on the communist regime, which was subsequently raised on March 4; according to a fact sheet from the White House due to China’s involvement in America’s fentanyl crisis.
Amid these rising tensions, Lin Jian, spokesperson for Beijing’s Foreign Ministry, stated on X that whatever kind of war the United States seeks, China is prepared to fight until the end.
